The volume of export of meat products from Ukraine in 2017 increased by 37% compared to the indicators of 2016 and amounted to $ 531.3 million.
This was stated by the deputy director of the National Science Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics", a correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykola Pugachev, the statement said in the center.
According to him, in the context of the even geographical diversification of exports of this type of agricultural food in the main regions - the EU, Asia and Africa - last year, some countries significantly strengthened their position in the list of major buyers of meat and offal.
In 2017, the ranking of domestic meat importers was first headed by the Netherlands. Last year, they purchased these products for $ 80.5 million - 2.4 times more than in 2016. The share of this country in Ukrainian exports of meat products amounted to 15.1%.
Egypt increased imports of meat and offal against the figures in 2016 by 73% to $ 69.4 million. With a share of 13.1%, it ranked second.
Iraq bought meat products at $ 51.2 million (9.6%), and Belarus - $ 49.6 million (9.3% of the total exports of this group).
The volumes of domestic meat exports to Azerbaijan increased 2.7 times and amounted to $ 37.8 million (7.1%).
Hong Kong has also considerably strengthened its position, which has bought meat in Ukraine by almost $ 30 million (5.6%), exceeding the figures in 2016 by 2.4 times.
They are followed by Georgia, which last year imported Ukrainian meat and offal to $ 22.9 million (4.3% of exports), Germany - $ 21.7 million (4.1%) and Kazakhstan - $ 20.8 million (3 , 9%).
The TOP-10 major importers of Ukrainian meat products in the United Arab Emirates are completing. Last year, this country bought a mortgage of $ 19.2 million (3.6%), almost tripled by 2016.
In total, these countries accounted for almost 76% of foreign supplies of meat products.
According to the expert, in 2017, Slovakia ($ 16.1 million, 3.0% of exports) and Turkey ($ 7.3 million, 1.4% of exports), having picked themselves up to the TOP-20 importers, significantly increased their purchases of this type of Ukrainian agricultural products .
The tendency of an increase in the volumes of deliveries of Ukrainian meat and offal to the overseas remains this year. In January 2018, the export of this type of products exceeded the indicators of the corresponding period of 2017 by 76% and amounted to $ 38.7 million, summed up Mykola Pugachev
